Abacus Mining & Exploration Corp. (the "Company") announces that Mr. Douglas Fulcher has been appointed as President and CEO and Mr. Robert Friesen has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

Since 1993, Mr. Fulcher has acted as senior managing director for the Company and has been integral in the Company's project funding requirements. He brings over 30 years experience in mining exploration and past 16 years in financial accounting and project budgeting. He has also been involved in project management in various part of the world including Canada, United States, Russia and South America. 

Mr. Friesen received his B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia in 1967. He has worked at several operating underground and open pit mines in British Columbia, Ontario, Fiji and the Northern Territory Australia. Mr. Friesen also has extensive experience in property evaluations, advanced exploration projects and feasibility studies that include the Golden Giant and Musselwhite deposits in Ontario, the Samatosum in British Columbia, the Pogo deposit in Alaska, and the Company's Niblack project, also in Alaska. In this capacity, Mr. Friesen has worked with several junior and major mining companies including Noranda Minerals Inc., Minnova Inc, and Teck Exploration Ltd.
